Think On These Things

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

In the book of Acts chapter 12, Peter was in prison but Peter was not afraid in the prison. How did I know that he was not afraid? Because he was sleeping to the extent that it took an Angel to wake him up. The man was so relaxed that he removed his sandals and slept a deep sleep. Did he know that King Herod was waiting for Easter to kill him? Yes, he knew but what gave him such confidence, why was he sleeping, why wasn’t he threatened? He removed his upper coat and slept very well. Remember in those days when they put you in prison, they tie your hands and your legs. They put him in prison and shut all the gates and the soldiers were watching. But why was he sleeping and so restful? Because he had heard Jesus say in John chapter 21 that he was going to grow old, time will come when they will lead him about. He heard that and knew that the word of God cannot fail and that whatever was confronting him was a temporary thing.

There was a story of a woman who was diagnosed of cancer of the breast, but this woman had so much word in her spirit. When she received the report, she said thank you doctor and she went about doing the work of the Lord, loving and serving God. They gave her appointment to come for a review some days later and when she got to the hospital, she was busy helping other people and sharing the word of God with them and people looked at her and said look at this woman who was diagnosed of cancer. But by the time they checked, everything had disappeared, because she refused to think on what the doctor said but on the healing power of God.

Child of God, I challenge you today, whatever things that are true, honest, pure and lovely of good report, if there is any praise or virtue, think on these things. Think on positive things, think on the things that will elevate, think on things that will keep you focused, think on things that will keep you alive and not on things that will kill you. I declare that as you keep your thoughts on the word of God, every promise of God concerning you shall be fulfilled in Jesus name.
