Look From Where You Are
“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:” Genesis 12:1
Abaraham was called out of the land the Ur of the Chaldees. God told him to come out of his father’s house, from his kindred, from his country; from his familiar terrain to a land He will show him. God said to him: Abraham I will make of thee a great nation, I will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shall be a blessing and in thee shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. I will curse those who curse you and bless those who bless you. So Abraham departed and Lot went with him; that is in chapter 12. And in chapter 13, God began to bless Abraham and Lot was blessed by association.
You can be blessed by association, that’s why you must be careful the association you get into. There are associations that will add to you and there are associations that will take from you. Lot was blessed but contention started coming between Abraham and Lot, their servants started quarreling over where their cattle will graze.
The scriptures said let there be no quarrel between the two of us, make your choice, if it is right or left, north or south, choose. If you read from verse 10, Lot opened his eyes and looked at the west and saw that it looked like a desert, nothing was growing there and he looked at the east and saw that everything was green and said I have chosen the green part and that left Abraham without anything. But remember that it was Abraham that the Lord called and made promise to; and so it looked now as if the promise has failed. Remember when God made a promise He is not saying what He will do, but what He has already finished. And so, irrespective of what you see in the natural, it must not change what you believe. In the eyes of man, Abraham had lost out because Lot had chosen the better part but the scriptures said, after Lot had left Abraham in the desert which was mostly sand, God said, Abraham now that you are in this condition, not when the situation changes. He said now lift up thy eyes look ‘FROM’, not look ‘AT’ but look from where you are. Look from it, take your eyes from where you are and look northward where i am showing you, southward, eastward, westward, as far as you can see.
Many people are limited because they are looking ‘AT’. But God is calling you today to take charge of your eyes. Don’t look at where you are, look from it to where God wants to put you and you will see it fall into place. May God open your eyes today to look from where you are in Jesus’ name.
