Get Back To Focus

“And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid…” Matthew 14:29-30a

This scripture tells us how Jesus walked on the storm and Peter asked if he could also join Jesus on the water and Jesus said “come”. Peter immediately took the bold step and walked on the water, asking no questions. His eyes were obviously focused on Jesus who said, come and for as long as he was focussed on Jesus, he walked on the water. However, he began to sink when he took his eyes off Jesus and saw the wind. Child of God, the wind was there when he walked but the difference was that at the initial stage, he gave no attention to the wind. What you give attention to will control your thoughts and what controls your thoughts will determine the results you get; for as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. When he gave attention to the wind, fear came and he began to sink.

The same thing applies to you. When God gives you a promise, don’t forget that the word of God and God are one. So focusing on the word of God is focusing on God, and He never fails. Don’t give attention to the challenges facing you; otherwise fear will come in. Like Peter when fear came in, he began to sink, when you give room to fear, you will lose sight of the blessing that God has planned for you. Many are sinking today, because they have either forgotten what God said or you are not looking at it and they are now being overwhelmed by what the devil is doing.

Get back to focus, find out that thing God has told you, if He said it, He has all the power to bring it to pass. In the book of Acts it was recorded that some people came and took a vow to kill Paul and that he is going nowhere, Acts 23:12 records “And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul”. But God who knows how to manipulate things and ensure that what He said comes to pass, leaked their secret thus He made sure that Paul got to Rome to fulfil his assignment. I declare to you that you will fulfil God’s purpose for your life.

Your assignment IS NOT to bring His word to pass; your assignment is to BELIEVE HIM. Mark 9:23 says “All things are possible to him who believeth”, if you can believe you will rise above the challenges. I see you overcome every challenge before you, as you stay focused in Jesus name.
