Living Beyond Popular Opinion

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8:6

A lot of believers today believe more in professional advice than in Gods word, they believe in majority opinion and in convenience because they assume that when it is not convenient it is not God. Let me show you in Acts 27 verse 12, it says And because the haven was not commodious… in other words, because the haven was not comfortable, majority concluded that it was not God. Who told you that when God makes a promise to you the whole road will be smooth? Thats why when God makes a promise, He shows you the end because if He shows you everything you will back out.

Check through history, most people who made a mark in their chosen profession, most people who left a footprint on the sands of time, were those who chose to go on, when there was nothing to look forward to. They are men and women who refused to be ruled by popular opinion. They were people who believed the word of God and refuse to observe the weather. Ecclesiastes 11:4 declares: He that observeth the wind shall not sow, and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. You cannot afford to be a fair-weather Christian otherwise you will miss out of Gods plan for your life.

David did not follow the popular opinion when he confronted Goliath. Remember, even the King of Israel, King Saul, was hiding. The man with the weapons, was hiding and probably peeping through a hole. Put on your imagination: how did the words of David spread so fast that it got to the king? It was because it was very different from what every other person was saying. There are times, you need to stand alone because one with God is majority. There are times you need to say like Esther, if I perish, let me perish. Until you come to that point, where it is God or nothing, you will not unlock your full potential. Every gifting in you will be tested, but when you stand the test, then and then alone will you stand out. May God give you the grace not to follow the crowd, but to stand for Him. Listen to advise but hold on to divine direction and you will never miss your way. You will fulfil destiny in Jesus name.
