SEEK YE FIRST II

Seek Ye First II

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

Yesterday we started looking at this topic with the example of Daniel and his three friends. Let me ask you this: Why are you taking thought as if this is your home? Beloved, dont forget, you are from above and you must function like that. Jesus in Matthew 6:20-25 was saying: I am not saying you dont need things; because you are alive they are necessary. God knows you need a roof over your head. He knows you need the good things of life. Yes, God knows you need them but He says, pursue God first; instead of pursuing things. Put God first and all other things of life will come.

Put God first by seeking Him always; make Him your top priority like you do your job. You wake up early and despite the weather you make up your mind to report to your place of work, but when it rains on Sunday, you stay at home and sleep and say God will understand. No. Job said in Job 23: 12 I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Did you see that? If you are like that, nothing will stop you from going to church when the doors of the church are open because you are not just going to mark register and see old friends, you are going with a mindset to receive the word for the week from God. I have heard testimonies of some businessmen who were in dire straight asking God for direction on a business decision who got the answer in church during the sermon. What would have happened if they missed that particular service?

Youve got to make a sincere appraisal, have a genuine appraisal to know where your heart is. When Gentiles are running after things, Gods people should run after God. Pay the price it takes to run after God because you know you are a pilgrim here on earth. This is not your home. If you are running after God, the things other people are running after will automatically run after you. It will be added unto you when you seek first the kingdom of God.

The bible says all things shall be added when you live your life seeking after God. It would guard your attitude, your behaviour, the way you function, your zeal, your commitment to the things of God. This earth is only a transit camp, it is not your home and it is not your destination. So dont unpack your baggage here. Seek God first and remain focused on your home. I declare to you today that you will not be distracted, you will make it home in Jesus name.
