The God You See
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” 1 John.3:2
I know that this passage is talking about the end time event but much more than that there is an aspect of this passage I believe is applicable to us. The God you see is the god you become. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”. In Matthew chapter sixteen, Jesus asked a question: who do people say that I am? There were different answers from the people. Some said he was John the Baptist, some said Elias, others said Jeremiah and some said he was one of the prophets. He then asked the disciples: who do you say that I am? Peter said thou are Christ, the son of the living God.
You must note here that the name “Christ” is not the surname or last name of Jesus. The word Christ is talking about His function, the anointed one and the anointing. Just like John the Baptist, “the Baptist” is not his last name. The Baptist is talking about his function. He was the one who was baptizing by the river Jordan. The word Christ is speaking about the anointed one and his anointing. What does the anointing do? It removes burdens and destroys yokes. When the anointing is present, it destroys your darkness.
Peter understood this revelation and that was why Jesus said: flesh and blood has not revealed this to you. When Peter saw this revelation he saw Jesus in another dimension. This perspective of Jesus made Peter’s needs to be met, his bills to be paid, his pains to disappear and his fears and anxieties to go. He knew that the presence of Jesus always removes yokes and lifts burdens. When you see Jesus as the Healer, you will be healed. When you see Him as Saviour, you will be saved. Whenever you are under any condition, whatever the need is, He meets it. When you see Him from that standpoint, you will never go without. Today, you will not be denied, help is coming your way, the Lord is making a way for you.
