Dont Abandon Your Altar (I)

And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel and he pitched his tent with bethel on the west and Ai on the east …There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord Genesis 12:8

The altar is a place of sacrifice, a place where you meet with God. The dictionary defines altar as the centre of worship or sacrifice. Altar is a place of consecration; it is a place where one surrenders to God and a place of blessing. It also represents a place where vows are made. It is a place where you know the God that answers by fire as the case of Elijah; when he built the altar, the fire came down. Whenever the altar is serviced, heaven responds positively. When you study the bible you will see examples of men and women who received great things from the altar.

Child of God, dont abandon your altar or take it for granted because it is your place of deliverance. It is a point of contact and connection where divinity meets humanity, where heaven and earth meet and the glory is released. Your altar is a place of spiritual transaction where you bring all your needs and request before God. Altar is a place of covenant where you can covenant with God. God made a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15:5-9. Abraham said how can I know that what you told me will come to pass and God answered by saying bring me a sacrifice and God gave him an assurance that what God spoke to him in spite of natural circumstances that they will surely come to pass.

Beloved, if you have left your altar, go back to it, and if it needs repair, rebuild it as Elijah did in 1 Kings 18:30 and call on the name of the God of Israel and He will definitely answer you.
