The Altar A Place Of Death

I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy, acceptable to God which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

The altar is a place where things that do not give glory to God die. An altar is a place to kill the flesh and its lust. You cannot have an altar and be living in sin. God expects you to present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him. Lay down your body upon the altar as a living sacrifice and in everything you do you must honour God, dont ever take your altar for granted

Adonijah rebelled against his father and ran to the altar thinking that he will be delivered but he was killed right there at the altar. That is why you dont take your altar for granted. Its a place of judgment, a place where vows not honoured are judged. Dont make a vow that you dont intend to pay: vows of commitment and dedication, vows of giving of tithes and giving your time, vows of giving your ability, potentials and gifts. Vows made at the altar must be paid. That is why scriptures say it is better not to vow, than to vow and not pay.

Esther, Jacob and many others made vows at the altar and fulfilled them. Instructions given at the altar should be obeyed for the blessings to come. Make up your mind today to always present yourself on the altar as a living sacrifice. Let the flesh die on the altar and let the name of the Lord be honoured always. I declare that as you honour God with your altar, God will honour you and cause you to testify in every area of your life.
