Altar A Place Of Reconciliation
Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar and there remembered that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way, first be reconciled to your brother and then come and offer the gift Matthew 5:23-24
We have seen the altar as a place where the flesh and things that do not give glory to God die. The altar is also a place of reconciliation, first where man is reconciled to God; Jesus reconciled us through His death on the cross. Scripture says but now in Christ Jesus you, who sometimes were far off, have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, who has made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that He might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to those that were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father (Ephesians 13-18).
An Altar is also where man reconciles himself to man. From todays scriptural text you can see that our gift or sacrifice cannot be accepted unless we first reconcile. Child of God that is why you cannot afford to live in strife with your brother and sister, you cannot live in strife with your spouse or your prayers will be hindered. If you refuse to reconcile, no amount of prayer made on your behalf will ever work. Dont be so angry or upset with a fellow man that you cannot forgive. Unforgiveness hinders your prayers; unforgiveness hinders your blessing and unforgiveness keeps you in bondage. Avoid resentment and bitterness because they defile.
Today I command every yoke of unforgiveness, malice and grudge to be broken. I release the grace to forgive upon you in Jesus name. Make up your mind to live a life of forgiveness. No matter what it is, let it go. As you do, I release you from every yoke of bitterness and declare that your prayer will not be hindered neither will it be delayed. You will not be weak in the place of prayer and as you raise your request unto God, you will find answers. The name of the Lord will be glorified in your life in Jesus name.
