So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.” 2 Kings 18: 42-43

The ancient Prophet Elijah openly declared that there will be an abundance of rain after a long period of drought. When he made that declaration, nothing seemed to have happened, but there was a stirring in the realm of the spirit. Elijah sent his servant to the sea if he could see anything unusual, but the young man came back saying he had seen nothing. That perhaps describes the situation many believers have found themselves. You may have invested in several projects but saw nothing come out of it. Understand that God is not through with you yet. From our scriptures today, you will notice that Elijah told the servant to go again seven times. That speaks of consistency, resilience and a refusal to give up. In verse 44, the scriptures say..and it came pass at the seventh, that he said, behold there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, go up, and say unto Ahab, prepare thy chariot and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not what the servant saw and described as a ‘little cloud out of the sea’ is the result of consistency. That is what happens when you refuse to take NO for an answer.

Child of God, if there is any time you needed to go back again to that failed project, business, job, school and marriage, it is now. Remember that there is no room for docile people in the kingdom so do not run your life as business as usual or sit in one place and expect that things will fall on your laps like bag of cherry. The scripture says in Proverbs 12:24 that the hand   the diligent shall bear rule, but the slothful shall be under tribute. That means you must take a quality decision to look for new opportunities and refuse to stay at a spot. Don’t allow the devil garage you, keep working on fresh ideas, keep moving because it is difficult to hit a moving target.
