Spiritual sensitivity November 16 Sunday
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know that is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saint.”
You are not where you are today by accident, because God has a plan and a future for your life. The scriptures tell us that those He foreknew, He predestinated, and those He predestinated He called and those He called, He justified and those He justified, He glorified. (Romans 8:29-30) I have come to assure you that God is still committed to fulfilling His plan for your life. But you have the responsibility to be sensitive to the voice of God. You need to know what God wants you to do at every material time. That was what gave Rahab the unusual privilege of being in the lineage of Jesus – she could perceive that these men were not like other men. She perceived that they did not come for a one-time night out; they were there for a serious business.
Beloved, how sensitive are you? The Bible talks about the children of Issachar who had understanding of the times and the seasons and knew what Israel ought to do (1 Chr. 12:32). Sensitivity will bring you relevance. Sensitivity will promote you and show you forth to the world. Proverbs made it clear that every man- not some people- but every man – friends and foes alike, will kiss the lips of him that has the answer (Prov. 24:26)
Who would have thought that God would have anything to do with a prostitute like Rahab, yet she was instrumental in God’s plan to taking over Jericho. The Bible also records her account in the Hall of Faith as one who did not perish when others did, because of what she did. It was what she knew that gave her the grace to do what she did.
The question is how sensitive are you? Can you say you know of a certainty that you would not remain where you are now? It is very easy to sit in church and yet miss God, because often times people think they are covered because they belong to the system. God is not looking for traditionalists but people who are sensitive and are on the lookout for Him.
You must stay on your watch daily to hear what He will say to you. My prayer is that He will open the eyes of your understanding so that you may both see and know that He will come through for you. Look beyond your present circumstances and see what He has in stock for you. I declare to you that your future is not only bright but colourful.
