A Christian is An individual who seeks to live his or her life according to the principles and values taught by Jesus Christ. An individual who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A Christian or believer is an Ambassador of heaven on earth. An ambassador of Christ on earth, home, place of work and leadership.
A believer is a man of integrity, one with the fear of God. An heir of the kingdom and join heir with Christ. Believer is a role model anywhere he/she is. He/she shows forth God’s glory. He does not live a double life, I.e. being a believer in church or on Sunday or service day and a “businessman” when it comes to secular work, worshipping money and denying the faith.
What impact are you making in your world? Who do you resemble when you are discharging your official duty? Is it God or satan? Who will commend you in the discharge of your duty, is it God or satan. In your dealings with people, in your office, the decisions, actions, inactions, execution of duties, whose commendation do you get, God’s or satan’s? What are you after in your daily life, is it money or to please God.
We are Believers only in this world not in heaven or hell. We are admonish by God to work out our salvation with trembling. How do we do that, is it by doing what the world does or standing out of the crowd to say NO to sin, no to stealing, armed or pen robbery, No to cheating, highhandedness, and breaking of office rules.
There are some pastors who have made a mockery of their calling because of their insatiable taste for money. They are deeply involved in “organized crime” in the name of business, official recklessness and abuse of both the public office and the office of the pastor. They are seen committing and encouraging forgery, fornication, adultery and over blotted figures (eg. Reporting N260,000 for N60,000 worth of item). What sort of leadership are we showing to the world? The bible say “the ernest expectation of creation waits for the manisfestation of son of God”, are we really the sons of God in our places of work, office and in our dealings with others. Can God bear us witness to the fact that we are truely His? What is the distinguishing factor between you and an unbeliever?
Will an unbeliever say “of a truth, you are better than me” or will they say “I didn’t know you are worst that me” which will be your testimony. Are you the type that says, “business is business leave God out of this”? Do you really have the fear of God in you or you only say it to deceive people to think that you are a believer.
Every believer MUST put God first in everything he/she does. We are call to be sons of God, kings and priests in the market place not just in church or on Sunday. Our walk must match our talk, who we are on Sunday, in church must be the same on other days of the week in our places of work. We must ask ourself each time we want to do or say anything anywhere, “What will Jesus have done if He is in this same situation that I am now”? before we do anything.
Money and riches are not the reason why God gave you that job or business, He wants you to worship Him with it, in your attitude, office dealings, in the discharge of you duties. Not to cheat, inflate prices, lie, rob or swindle, loot and misappropriate public funds.
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE, BE THE LEADER YOU YARN FOR, BE THE BELIEVER YOU WANT OTHERS TO BE AND GOD WILL BLESS YOU WITHOUT YOU ASKING FOR IT.
Can God boast about you like He did about Job?
