You can change that name
November 20 Thursday
” And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.”
Luke 1:36 (KJV)
In my years of Ministry, I have seen people who have been identified by the issues they are passing through. such as barrenness, prostitution, poverty, sickness and what have you. People don’t remember their names, but they remember them by the challenge in their lives. It has become a stigma that could be overwhelming. But it did not start today, we see it in the Bible days with names like Blind Bartimaeus. The word “Blind” was not his name, but a description of the challenge in his life. He was not the only one, you have the woman with the issue of blood. Till today, we have no clue of what her real name was, but her condition had defined her.
Are you in a situation whereby your name has been overtaken by your situations? Have people tagged you with an identity God did not give you? I want to challenge you to arise and change the name. Take a cue from Jabez, who did not even have the kind of opportunity available today. He looked at his name and decided that it was time for a change. Beloved, rise up in your spirit and decide it is time for a change.
Jabez had his coast enlarged. Elizabeth carried her baby. Bartimaeus received his sight, and on and on.
Child of God, I don’t know the name the enemy has called you because of your predicament, but I urge you today to refuse that label in Jesus Name. That devil is a liar. You are not barren, poverty is not in your heritage, and sickness is not your portion. Your victory was guaranteed from the foundation of the world. You are a testimony about to explode. You are the one sent to your generation. You can change your name today!
