CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN OF OBEDIENCE

Climb the mountain of obedience December 1, Monday

“And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.” Genesis 22:14 (KJV)

There are many things already provided by God, which can only be received as you climb to the mountain of God where He will meet you personally. God’s promises do not just fall on people. It is only for those who have learnt to step out in faith on His word that can be met by Him. People often want to receive the benefit of the word when they have not operated on the principles of the word. God is not a magician. The more you get into God, the more of God’s promises you see actualised in your life.

Beloved, one thing you should realise is that God’s names were revealed to people who did specific things to invoke the power in those names. Like I always say, we serve the many-sided God. God is too big for your finite mind to comprehend. Just when you think you know Him, He flips and shows you another side of Himself. God revealed Himself to Abraham only after he had obeyed the command to take his only son Isaac for sacrifice on mount Moriah. Notice, God did not tell Him about providing when He gave the instruction; God did not tell Him about the lamb even when they got on the mountain. It was only after Abraham had tied his son and raised up the knife to slaughter him that God said hold on, now I know that you will not withhold your son from Me (v.12). It was at this point that Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the ram.

One of the root meanings of the name Jehovah Jireh is – It shall be seen on His mountain. Note the word “His” not your mountain. Until you get to the mountain of obedience to His word you will not see the manifestation. His word is the promise and you climb by faith to receive the manifestation.

I challenge you today to climb the mountain of obedience. Dare to obey God and watch Him come through in your life. He is not a man to lie neither is He the son of man to repent. His word is good and reliable. Trust Him and He will bring it to pass.
