Unusual Instructions
December 20, Saturday

“And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.” 2 Kings 4:4 (KJV)

Yesterday, we looked at the story of Naaman and I challenged you to relax in the hands of God and let Him be God. Just follow Him without reservation and see His mighty hand at work in your life.

Today, we are looking at another unusual instruction. This time it is to a widow woman, whose husband served God unreservedly yet died in debt and the widow went to the man of God in search of a solution, but unlike Naaman, she chose to believe the Prophet without questioning. She not only obeyed, she stayed with the man of God for the proceeding word of God. When she filled the vessels with oil, she did not imagine that the next line of action was obvious, she went back to the man of God and received instruction for the next level, no wonder she prospered every step of the way.

As the year draw to a close, take a decision to obey every word from God without questioning. No matter how unusual the instruction is, once it is from God, simply obey. You can be sure that God will not tell you to do anything that contradicts the word, so that is the clincher so you do not fall into error. Secondly, like the woman, always go back to receive fresh instructions. Don’t run off thinking you know what to do. If God started it, don’t try to finish it. Follow God closely and you will see His hand upon your life. Don’t run off with one miracle, God has much more in stock for you.
