Opportunities Could Be Dressed In Rags 2
December 22, Monday
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7 (KJV)
Yesterday we started looking at the story of the birth of Jesus and we agreed that if the inn-keeper had known that Jesus was about to be born, he would not have said there was no space Indeed, if he had no room, he would have sacrificed his own bed for him. But because it did not look like it, he turned Mary and Joseph down. He felt they were just ordinary people and he did not have time for them.
The story is told of a man who saw a stranded boy by the roadside who had a communication challenge and he helped him, gave him money to eat and gave him clothes and helped him get home. The little boy thanked the man for his kindness and asked for the man’s name and phone number saying that his parents will love to give the man a call to appreciate his help which the man obliged, not thinking much of it.
A few days later, he received a call from a Sheikh appreciating the man for the kindness and that the boy had returned home and as a token of appreciation, he sent the man a cheque running in the millions that eternally changed the man’s financial position. Think of it: if all the others knew who the boy was, they would have helped him, but they passed by, even though they could help, but they did not think it was worth their while. I challenge you today to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Take instructions from Him and let Him lead you every step of the way for that is the only way not to miss out on Him. God will help you.
In the remaining days of this year and throughout the coming years, your spiritual antenna shall be alive and accurate in Jesus’ name.
