Your birth right comes before the blessing
December 27 Saturday
“And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?” Genesis 25:32 (KJV)
One thing I have often said is that birth right comes before the blessing. Esau, because of hunger, sold his birth right. He did not see far into the future. Like the popular saying, he could not see beyond his nose. At that time, he did not think of the spiritual implication of his action. He was consumed with the immediate hunger and ignored his future. Beloved, I challenge you today, never take a permanent solution to solve a temporary challenge. The hunger Esau encountered did not have the capacity to kill him. He could have gone a little longer and found something to eat without selling his birth right. But he got in, hungry and starving, saw his brother’s food and did not care about his future just because of the convenience of the moment.
As the year draws to a close, think back, have you behaved like Esau? Don’t be quick to shake your head saying an emphatic no, take a second look. Selling your birth right is not only a case of sin, after all Esau eating to satisfy his hunger is not sin. Anything you do that does not place value on the things of the spirit is selling your birth right. Beloved, never take the devil’s alternative. It might look harmless in the beginning, but don’t be deceived, the birthright always comes before the blessing.
However, if you have ever been in that position, all hope is not lost. Your God is the God of mercy and His Mercy is reaching out to you today. Get restless in the spirit and break the yoke of the devil over your neck. Take the word of God, which is the sword of the spirit, and hew your way through to victory. As you rise up in the Spirit, I release the grace of God upon your life and I decree that the yoke shall be broken in Jesus’ name. Amen.
