PRINCIPLES OF SUCCESS (1) Monday, January 5 2015
“[. . .] incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding” Proverbs 2:2 (KJV)
Today, it is no longer a secret that opportunities abound in different sectors of our nation’s economy. But the irony is that many believers are barely scratching the surface. Rather than harnessing our God-given potential and proffering solutions to our world, oftentimes we sit back, complain, throw our hands up in the air, and say that nothing is working. If you just looked around, you would see that someone else is doing what you “can’t” do. To be all that God has ordained us to be, we must have a certain level of restlessness.
First and foremost, you must understand that success does not come by chance. We are told in Genesis 1 that in the beginning the earth was void and without form, but notice that it did not remain like that. God saw the darkness, did not like it, and proffered a solution. He commanded light to appear and there was light. In like manner, believers are also called to proffer solutions in their world. The word of God is plastered with templates and principles for us to follow. If we diligently harness these divine principles, we will ultimately succeed.
One of the principles of success is to know that you are unique. You are you, so don’t try to be someone else. You cannot afford to be a copy when you are an original. By virtue of the New Birth, you have been designed to be ahead of others. Being a child of God confers an advantage on you-you have the mind of Christ. This means that you have insight into what God is doing. You can download divine concepts that the world is still looking for. When you have the mind of Christ, you can proffer a solution that will leave the world wondering. Take a look through the streets in your area and you will see many needs in people’s lives.
When you dare to satisfy those needs, people will naturally gravitate towards you. You may be selling roasted plantains and fish. If you let people see a touch of creativity in what you are doing, pretty soon you will be the one who is sought after. I therefore charge you to always incline your ear unto wisdom and apply your heart to understanding. Remember that the enemy wants you down and out, while heaven is depending on you. I prophesy that you will win the competitions of life. Head or tail, you will not lose.
