HAVE A KINGDOM MENTALITY

HAVE A KINGDOM MENTALITY Friday, 9 January 2015

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

In our world today, one of the things creating problems all over the world is the desire to get money! Money is so powerful that Jesus had to speak about it in the scripture. That tells you the power and influence money can wield. While teaching, He said during the Sermon on the Mount that you cannot serve God and mammon. The reason for all the conniving, manipulation, and different kinds of falsehood that exist is money. All these things have money as the underlying factor. There is always the desire to acquire more. And when you get to the bottom line, whenever you see a person pursuing things, it simply means that the person has a slave mentality. A slave will always think, “What am I deprived of? How can I get it?” Slaves will do whatever it takes to get what they want. This frame of mind originates from the fall of man and it has been with mankind ever since. Only the new birth can defeat this mentality. The new birth gives you an understanding of who you are and of what God has really done in your life.

God wants us to have a kingdom mentality. The slavery to sin has brought so much servitude to other things. Oftentimes the fall of man and the mentality that sin has created in our lives over the years keeps us from understanding the fact that we can have everything as children of God. The scripture says in John 3:3, “[. . .] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (KJV). The phrase “he cannot see” means that man can’t understand the revelation of God’s knowledge. Then John 3:5 says “he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (KJV). In other words, because you do not see, you can’t understand or comprehend how God functions. Trapped in this state, you won’t be able to benefit from anything He offers.

There are benefits that accrue to you as a member of the kingdom. They are automatically yours; it is not a matter of struggling but of understanding. Because many people don’t understand this concept, they practice greed. That is the reason why others cut corners, cheat, deceive, and compromise. I declare that every benefit of membership to the kingdom that is yours will come to you. You will not be denied in Jesus’s name.
