PURSUE THE KINGDOM’S AGENDA (1) Sunday, 11 January 2015
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” Matthew 6:25 (KJV)
God says you belong to His kingdom and everything you have belongs to Him. It is His initiative and not yours. As a believer, you have to model the kingdom in your day-to-day activities because you are an ambassador, heaven’s representative, and an extension of God. There is no way the world can model God’s will because unbelievers can’t see how it functions.
Solomon tapped into the kingdom’s principle. Solomon minded his business and worshipped God. He tapped into what Jesus was saying, as described in Matthew 6; there is no need to think of what you will eat, what you will drink, or what clothing you will wear because the Heavenly Father knows that you have need all of these things.
Don’t bombard your mind with thoughts about how you are going to survive tomorrow, how you are going to pay various fees, how you are going to finance a project, how you are going to build a house, how you are going to buy a car, how you are going to survive, or how you are going to get a shirt or trousers. God says do not think about these things. If your Heavenly Father can take care of the lilies of the sea, which are beautiful in the morning and dry up by night, and if He takes care of birds, ordinary animals that are not made in His image, do you think He will not take care of you? Of course He will!
Eventually Solomon started to worship God lavishly. Child of God, even if God does not give you material things, you can still love him, because He saved you from sin, which is the greatest salvation. And He brought you out of the miry clay. You see, many of us don’t appreciate our salvation. Have you ever asked yourself in quiet moments, with the little you know now, if you died without Christ, where would you be? You need to arrive at the point where you are crazy about God. You should go bunkers for God. He has delivered you from hell. That should be enough for you to wake up every morning and say “I love you” to God even if there is no food on the table.
