YOU ARE BIGGER THAN CRUMBS (1) Monday, 26 January 2015
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
Despite the number of mineral resources, many African countries are living in a mono economy. Take Nigeria for example: the country is surviving only on oil. Nigeria is not yet living but simply surviving. Nigerians are not yet living on the deposit that God has put in the ground for them. The same is true for many other developing nations. Even in developed nations there are areas of great abundance that have been looked down upon and ignored.
But the question that bothers me most is: why does the Church not take advantage of this gap and explore the opportunity? I wonder why the Church won’t take the lead in exploring the untapped resources in order to show the world what an abundant blessing God has deposited in the nations where we are planted. I question why the Church is always coming from behind. Currently the Church seems to go after what others have dropped. Why shouldn’t we set the precedent? We have the word of God, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, and we are covenant people. So why are we satisfied with the crumbs? Hear me.You are bigger than crumbs.
It is time for Christians to tap into the mind of God and reach a new level of innovation that will blow the world’s mind. We are not to copy; rather the world should copy us. Others should find in us the answers and solutions to their problems. We should be the inventors while they follow after us. Remember: we are royalty, called to show forth the praises of God.
Child of God, it is time to let go of the crumbs. Proverbs 11:24 says: “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty” (KJV). Until you let go you will not come into the fullness of all that God has in store for you. I thank God for all you have accomplished so far but I make bold to say to you that you have not seen all yet. As long as there is still breath in you there is much more that God has in store for you. This year I see God lifting you up from where you’ve been to where you ought to be in Jesus’s name. I bless you in the name of the Lord.
