RUN TO THE STRONG TOWER (2) Wednesday, 18 February 2015

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

A wise man said, “There is an evil I have seen under the sun that proceeded from the rulers thereof. Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place. I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.” He said this situation is evil; those who are supposed to know better are the ones who have allowed the situation to occur. There are certain things that we allow not because they are a part of God’s plan but because we flawed. Our decision makes the devil run roughshod over our lives. If you do not know your rights and privileges, the devil will treat you like a slave; he will climb on your horse and issue you commands that you will obey. But when you know your rights and privileges, when the devil comes, you will stand firm on the word of God.

God has adequately prepared us. He has warned us that the activities of the devil will be on the increase as the coming of Christ draws close. All of that information is meant to help us build our defence; we need to know the weapons at our disposal and master them. God gave us this information, so that we would not be caught unawares. He has already declared the end from the beginning. God already knows the strength, tricks, and manipulations of the devil; He has made adequate plans for the well-being of the redeemed of the Lord. So it is not that God has not left us in the hands of the enemy. Instead, His people have refused to take responsibility for their faith.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:10 that the name of the Lord is a strong tower and the righteous run into it and are safe. This strong tower, the name of the Lord, is where the righteous should run when challenges come. Don’t wait for a challenge to come before you learn to dwell in the strong tower. Make it your natural habitat so that when the enemy comes, like the woman in the account, you will throw mortar and crush the devil. When challenges come, simply mention the name of the Lord and you will get results. Because you have been meditating on the power and authority in the name, you will find the strength to stand and overcome your challenges, whatever they are. In the name of the Lord, I declare you a winner today.
