“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

One of the devil’s strategies to get the believer is distraction. Distraction is an interruption in a course of action. It is a diversion from the course that you are already on. It is something that diverts your attention, many times from serious to mundane things. When the devil realises that you know your rights and privileges, he brings forth a major distraction in a bid to make you lose focus. He knows that if he can divert your attention from himself then he can still take advantage of you. He can hide under different excuses and disguise himself while making you chase shadows to his own advantage.

That is why I have come today to ask you to stay focussed. Whatever the devil is doing should not distract you from the finished work of Calvary. Jesus paid the supreme price; all you need to do is walk in the victory that has been made available. Are there goals you set before yourself at the beginning of the year? Is the devil trying to distract you from them? Don’t allow that to happen! Are there tasks that you set forth to do but the devil is putting mountains of impossibilities before you? Don’t be distracted. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Recount all His promises to you. Stand firm on His word. Don’t give up, and don’t let go. God has you in mind and you will surely testify.

In Habakkuk, the Bible says that you should write the vision and make it plain. What have you written? Keep these thoughts in view. Chart a course of action to accomplish your goals. Trust in God for divine guidance and follow Him every step of the way. God desires for you not only to meet your targets but also to exceed them. Stay focussed. Don’t allow room for any form of distraction. Look unto Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of your faith. Let God be God and you will see every dream come to pass. God desires for you to exceed your target. God wants to see you dancing and rejoicing because this is your year of celebration. All shall come to pass in Jesus name.
