“Sing unto the Lord a new song and his praise from the end of the earth [. . .].” Isaiah 42:10 (KJV)

In order to stay filled in the Holy Ghost, the word of God encourages us in Ephesians 5:19 to sing and make melody in our heart to the Lord. We are encouraged to sing hymns and spiritual songs unto him. All the hymns we sing are inspired by the Holy Ghost. That is why they never become stale.

When you are in the shower, sing. When you are driving, sing unto Him. Sing hymns. Sing spiritual songs. When you sing in the spirit, you are singing spiritual songs. When the devil tries to move you to accuse God of not doing anything for you, sing this song to silence him: Count your blessings name them one by one, Count your blessings see what God has done, Count your blessings name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

When the devil attempts to lie to you, telling you that you are not saved, or when he says that you will go to hell because you wear earrings and style your hair, you will tell him: Blessed assurance Jesus is mine, Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine, Heir of Salvation, purchased of God, Born of the Spirit, purchased in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Saviour all the day long.

When the enemy tries to tell you that your God is not powerful, you will declare: All hail the power of Jesus name, Let angels prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him, crown Him, And crown Him, Lord of all.

You shouldn’t be intimidated by how you sound. Your audience is God. And He understands your heart. You may think you are singing out of tune. Don’t worry. God enjoys it all the same.
