FIX YOUR MIND ON WHAT IS CONSTANT
Tuesday, 24 March 2015
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35 (KJV)
God has always given us information in advance concerning things that are going to happen. If you have been following our themes every year-that is, the word that God has been giving to us every year-you will notice that God always gives us information in advance. As we enter each New Year, you will begin to see why. You are going to see things happen around you that will be frightening. But God is preparing you ahead of time not to be afraid. Don’t forget that God’s day starts from night. God’s day does not start from the day; He starts from the night. It is first night, then day.
We saw some skirmishes a few years back when we began to notice as a nation certain things happening in different states. Almost all the states experienced floods. This is not natural; God is speaking. Some people lost all that they had laboured for in those disasters. The question is, what were they depending on? Child of God, you must fix your mind on what is constant. In the midst of life’s uncertainties there is something constant. That is the infallible, errorless, and impregnable word of God. Fix your mind on that; otherwise, you will allow the storm to overtake you.
I heard from a sailor that when he first started out, he would always throw up when they got to sea. He would be seasick. Then one of the experienced sailors told him to fix his eyes on the horizon and stop looking around when he was at sea and the boat was moving. If you fix your eyes on the horizon, you will no longer fall sick. The sailor followed the advice and there was no more seasickness. Beloved, I challenge you to stop looking around and fix your eyes on the unchanging word of God. Things may shake and quake around you but the word of God remains the same forever. That is why you can stake your life on it. I declare to you today that you will not be afraid. You will not be swept away by the storm of life. In every challenge, you will overcome and you will testify in Jesus name.
