THE PLACE OF SECURITY Wednesday, 25 March 2015
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1 (KJV)
As long as you are paying attention to the occurrences of this year, I can’t guarantee you victory. Fear, discouragement, and defeat always come from looking around. Victory comes from looking to God and His word. You must learn to look away from your surroundings and hide yourself in the Lord. Bury your head in the word of God and know your rights and privileges. You must embrace whole-heartedly the promises and assurances of God as contained in His word. It is very important that you know who you are. Know the promises of God in your life and hold on to them until you see them come to pass. There is no place of security other than in the word.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:24-25, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock” (KJV). Child of God, the word of God is your sure foundation. If you stand on it, you will never fall. Storms will rage, oceans will rise, and billows will toss high, but you will stand strong and come out victorious. Remember: God never promised you a storm-free life but He has assured you of victory at all times. I see you coming out victorious over every challenge in life.
God is going to judge rebellion. He is going to judge corruption. He is going to judge the evil and disobedience of this world. He is going to judge it in diverse ways. But there is hope for you as a believer. When the ocean begins to rise and billows toss high, be still and know that the Lord, your God, is the Lord, and has given you advance information. He has given you insight as His child so that you may guard your heart and not speak as others do in the world. There is no way He will visit the world with wrath without making provisions for your escape. He is your hiding place and will never leave you or forsake you. You are ever safe in His hands.
