“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed”. James 1:25 (KJV)

It is one thing to read the word, listen to the word, confess the word but quite another thing to apply the word. It is not a function of how much of the Bible you can quote. The real question is: how much of it are you applying to your day to day life. For instance, if the Bible is only relevant on Sundays then it is not the Bible, because the word of God is relevant on all days and in all situations. If you look at the mirror of the word, you will find an answer to every situation and challenge you may be facing. You must refuse to collapse and throw up your hands saying “nothing is working”.

The Apostle Paul in Phil 2: 5 said “let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” May I ask you, which mind is in you? Remember pressure does not make you, rather it reveals you. The mind that you have comes out in the face of challenges. If you have filled yourself with the word of God that says “by His stripes, ye were healed”, when sickness comes knocking, before you think of the doctor, you think of the word that says you are healed and pretty soon, the healing materializes. That is applied redemption. When you learn to act on the information you receive, then you are strengthened and equipped to ward off every attack of the devil. But if you do not act on it, or apply your redemptive rights, then you will remain weak, wounded and battered in spite of the resources available to you.

Let me remind you that you can only impact your world to the extent of the word inscribed in your heart. Don’t let the devil put you under pressure. Don’t relinquish your privileged position. Stand firm on the word of God. And like Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 6: 13, having done all to stand. In this day and hour when evil is walking the streets, learn to apply the word of God. When you are in the marketplace apply the word. When you are negotiating that contract, apply the word. The word works!

As you consciously apply the word of God in all situations, the heavens will open up over your life in a dimension that you have never imagined before.
