“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live” Deuteronomy 30:19
Ultimately, you decide how you want to end. It does not matter how you have lived your life in the past. When you decide to make a change, God honours your decision. You have the capacity to choose how you want your story to end. Rahab decided that her life will not end on a negative note and God honoured her decision. She thought within herself; I have lived all my life as a prostitute but I do not want to end that way and the scripture says she decided to hide the spies who visited her city at the risk of her life. She wanted to go forward. She did not want her story to end in a disaster. She said to herself I want to move forwards in life. That was her thinking and that was her decision. From the moment she decided, the spirit of the Lord took over.
The bible tells us the king on hearing that Rahab had received the spies sent emissaries to fetch the spies but when the king’s emissaries came they could not find the spies because Rahab had hidden them. And as soon as the emissaries left, Rahab negotiated her salvation with the spies. Today Rahab is mentioned in the lineage of Christ because at a cross road, she decided to make a right decision and moved forward. Heaven heard her and everything changed overnight.
Like Rahab, you also have an opportunity today to make a right decision in areas where the Holy Spirit had been dealing with you. I challenge you today to make a decision to end well. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit”. I declare to you today that you will end well. You will be celebrated in Jesus name.
