“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. Romans 12:2 (KJV)

Do not have a mind patterned after this world system. Having a mind patterned after the world’s system will defeat you. It will defeat you in your marriage. It will defeat you in your health, in your finance, in your career, in your profession, and in anything you are involved in. Our text says be not conformed to this world. In other words don’t blend with the mind – set of this world. Don’t blend with it. Don’t say well that’s what everyone is doing.

The scripture goes on to say: “but be transformed (Metamorphosis, changed)by the renewing of your mind that you may prove that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”. In other words have a changed mindset. You can decide to stay above water. It is possible to walk on water while others are sinking because of your mind-set. In Philippians 2:5, the bible says let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. It is not a choice. He said the mind you should carry is the mind of Christ. Then it began to tell us that Jesus Christ willingly abdicated his position as God. Because if Christ did not identify with us as human, there is no way we can put on the mind of Christ. Jesus did not function as God. He became a man like you, born by Mary, went through problems, lived and developed in the house like every other child develops in the house but when he was to die he died the worst death. He became a servant, they arrested Him and died on the cross.

So what is the bible telling us, it is telling us to develop a Christ like attitude. It says, listen though you are a human being, by reason of the fact that you are now in Christ you can have that same mind that Christ had. You can have it!

You cannot be a Christian and put on the mind of the world and want to win in the battles of life. It is not possible. I declare to you today that by reason of the mind of Christ in you, you are a winner always in Jesus name. Praise the Lord.
