“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2

In the book of Luke 15 the Bible narrates the story of the prodigal son, how he demanded for his portion of his father’s inheritance and squandered everything on riotous living. And from verse 17 it says “And when he came to himself, he said, how many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”

Look at Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” This scripture indicates that you will naturally gravitate towards what you are thinking. Your life will move towards the direction of your thought. If you are thinking of the wrong thing, your life will move towards it and same thing happens when you think the right thought. It is spiritual. Your thought pattern is very crucial to where you will end up in life. You will end up going to where you are thinking. You are most likely to be lifted or left below; prosperous or poor; blessed or cursed; healed or sick; wise or foolish. You are either going to live your life believing you are a sinner or the righteous, depending on your thought.

You are the owner of your thought. No one owns your thought pattern but you. There is nothing as plain as the wise man, Solomon says; “As he thinketh in his heart so is he.” As you are thinking so are you. This is why the Bible tells you in Proverbs 4:23 that “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Guard your heart with all diligence. Don’t play games with your heart because what goes in is what comes out. If you want to find out why your life is where it is heading, find out what you have been thinking about. Change your thought pattern.
