“And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled”. 2 Corinthians 10:6 (KJV)

Let us look at the scripture in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 and draw an inference from it. It says “for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing to captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Did you see that? Pulling down strongholds is just an aspect, while casting down thoughts and imaginations is another. When we pray, strongholds are pulled down and they stay down. But that is not all. Look closely at verse 6 which is our text. It says, “Having in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your own obedience is complete.”

Beloved, you cannot enforce a law you do not submit to. If you must enforce the authority of Jesus in any area of your life, you must submit yourself to His authority. You must take your time to learn of Him and follow Him every step of the way. Like I would always say, “obedience is the key to divine destiny”. You cannot arrive at God’s ordained destiny for your life if you are not obedient to Him. No matter what His word says, commit yourself to it knowing that His commandments are not grievous. Take a quality decision to obey God in all areas. Obey Him in season and out of season. When you make obedience your watchword, even creation will work together for your good. The land will have no choice than to yield her goodness for you.

I like the way Job 36:11 summarizes it. It says if you obey and serve Him, you shall spend your days in prosperity and your years in pleasures. The choice is yours!

But I encourage you to stay on the path of obedience and eat the good of the land. Review every area of your life, your tithing, praying, commitment to church activities, relationships at home, in the office and in the church and if you can spot disobedience in any area, deal with it immediately. Purge yourself of it and stand in faith that God will help you do that which you have committed yourself to. As you do, you will partake of all that the Lord has promised you. I urge you to fully be convinced that God will perfect all that concerns you. As you obey Him, His word and His servants, be assured that He will throw His weight around on your behalf. What God would do in your life this season would blow your mind and cause you to leap for joy.
