A CALL TO FELLOWSHIP Thursday, 13 August 2015
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hebrews 11:5
One thing God is hungry for is our fellowship that is why He made us in His image. The primary reason He made us, is to fellowship with Him. And we can are more effective when we do. In other words, our effectiveness on earth is determined by our fellowshipping with God. Therefore, we should not take our relationship with God for granted. In fellowshipping with Him you will discover who you really are and the resources available to you whereby you can be effective while you are here on earth. The scriptures says “Israel knew the acts of God but Moses knew the ways of God”
The will of God is that as we fellowship with Him, He teaches and reveals to us the resources available to each and every one of us. These resources will help us to reveal His glory as we live out our lives here on earth. This was the reason Adam was made in God’s image. Therefore, God wants us to fellowship, to have communion with him. He enjoys our fellowship. Put on your imagination! God was so much enjoying fellowship with brother Enoch that Enoch forgot himself and didn’t know when he found himself in heaven.
In essence, if you develop a strong fellowship with God and solid relationship with the Almighty, it is an atmosphere you don’t want to leave. An atmosphere you cannot toy with. He (Enoch) so much walked with God that disease did not find him. Poverty, lack and shame did not find him because you cannot find such things around the presence of God. There is nothing on this earth that can affect human race that found Enoch. Some of the things affecting us today did not find Enoch. Some challenges confronting us today did not find Enoch because such cannot stand in the presence of God. So we learnt that Enoch walked with God and was not. How? He had this testimony that he pleased God. Even God testified that He was pleased with Enoch’s fellowship. Are you pleasing God with your fellowshipping?
