YOU ARE A FRIEND OF GOD (1)

YOU ARE A FRIEND OF GOD (1) Tuesday, 18 August 2015

“And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” James 2:23 (KJV)

God himself puts it in His register that Abraham is righteous. He puts it in His register that Abraham is His friend. Abraham believed the word of God and acted on it and God recorded that he was righteous. So it was in believing what God has said and acting on it whole heartedly that God’s kind of righteousness is attained. God’s righteousness declares us guiltless of any form of ungodly acts by virtue of our belief in the redemptive work and finished acts of God through His son Jesus.

Please note that Abraham was from an idol worshiping background. God called Him out at an old age with a promise to make of him a great nation, bless him, make his name great and make him a blessing. And Abraham believed and started following God. Then God said because of this action, you (Abraham) are my friend. God almighty called him friend. You too can become God’s friend today if only you will receive His word, believe it and step out in faith. Decide now to do something with the word of God you hear. Don’t just be a hearer, be a doer also because it is the doer of the word that is blessed in his deeds.

Today, I declare you a friend of God. Isaiah 55:11 says “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. I declare that the word of God will not fall to the ground in your life; you will do something with it. The word of God in you will not be in vain, it shall produce. You will run and not be weary. You will walk and not faint. You will fly and excel because you are a friend of the Almighty who never fails to keep His part in the relationship. You will live continually in the confident assurance that you are God’s friend and nothing shall be impossible to you. Just like Abraham pleased God, you also will please Him and you will continually be on his right side.
