CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD (3) Saturday, 22 August 2015

“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Romans 4:20 -21

Abraham had no evidence to hold onto. In other words, there was no precedence. It has never happen before. No example, no mentor, no inspiration to draw from and no proof except that which was provided by the word of God. It was simply peculiar to him. His entire system was medically unfit and his wife was past the age of child bearing. Everything around Him was saying the contrary but Abraham believed God. He knew God was too organized to be confused and too holy to tell a lie, so he chose to believe God. He was saying “I refuse to believe what is around me, let every man be a lair but God alone be true. I am holding on to the promise.

When you start to believe God’s word, you enter into right standing with God. With God’s word, you establish a covenant relationship with Him and you can now fellowship with Him. It is in believing God’s word that we fellowship with Him. His word remains the foundation of our relationship and fellowship with Him. Because of His word, we like Abraham can call the things that be not in our lives as though they are. You can call yourself fruitful. You can call yourself employed. You can call yourself His or Her Excellency and you can call yourself a multi-billionaire.

Beloved, what have you been calling yourself? It is an offence to God when you call yourself a failure because there is no failure in God. It is an offence when you refuse to walk in love because your God is love. When you say you are weak, God is not pleased because God does not make any weak person. Every child of God must not be associated with anything negative. It is absolutely abnormal to be identified with anything negative. The bible says “We have been delivered from the powers of darkness and translated into the kingdom…” So you are a child of the kingdom. I declare that you will always be a friend of the Lord as you apply the word to your life and situation. May the glory of God be seen upon your life always in Jesus name.
